Stoke Road, Stoke Orchard

Drainage Improvement Works

Where: Stoke Road, Stoke Orchard

When: from 8am on 24th November to 4pm on 26th November – full road closure

Highways are installing a new drainage pipe to connect the ditch in either side of the road to improve drainage capacity here. This will be a new secondary pipe to stop the bottleneck effect that causes flooding in this location when we experience heavy rain.

What effects will the closure have on residents and road users?

Local access will be possible to the point of the works area as indicated on the map. We appreciatethat this will cause some inconvenience and delayed journeys. Unfortunately, a full closure is necessary for the safety of the workforce and public as we need to excavate a trench the full width of the road in order to install the new pipe. The closure area will be managed by the appointed traffic management company.

This means that if you live west ofthe works area, you will be able to travel in the direction of ElmstoneHardwicke or Tredington only. Residents living east of the works area can approach via Bishops Cleeve.

Stoke Road will effectively be closed to through traffic between Bishops Cleeve and Stoke Orchard.

Businesses

Access will be provided as outlined above, depending on the location of your business. Please let your staff, customers and any delivery companies know, however a fully signed closure and diversion will be in place for the duration of the works.
